The Rotary Club of Bwebajja has long been an active participant in district events, contributing significantly to their success, such as the Rotary International Conventions, District Conference Assemblies, and Rotary Africa Peace Concerts. Under the dynamic leadership of our irresistible President Andrew Ssennabulya, this tradition of active involvement continues with unwavering enthusiasm.
Since the onset of the new Rotary year, President Andrew has passionately encouraged club members to engage in district events. One such event took place on Friday, July 19, 2024, where members of the club, led by Mission Green Officer Rtn. Mpagi David, joined fellow Rotarians, Rotaractors, and friends of Rotary in the Rotary Centennial Project “Plant Your Balance” District Tree Planting Launch. This initiative aligns with District 9214’s theme for the Rotary year 2024/25: “Plant Your Balance.”
The event, held at the Kiwamirembe Catholic Shrine in Kajjansi, saw the planting of over 300 trees. Distinguished attendees included DG Agnes Batengas, DRR Joseph Ssengooba, and Guest of Honor Alfred Okot Okidi, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Water & Environment.
This momentous occasion not only celebrated 100 years of Rotary’s commitment to supporting communities in Africa but also highlighted Rotary’s dedication to environmental sustainability. The tree planting symbolizes our pledge to a greener future, in line with Rotary’s Area of Focus: Supporting the Environment.
The Rotary Club of Bwebajja takes immense pride in being part of this significant event, contributing to a legacy of ecological stewardship and community service.
Please join us as we continue to make a positive impact in our community and beyond.
