Week 18 of this extraordinary Rotary year was a breathtaking display of the unwavering passion, commitment, and vibrancy that define the Rotary Club of Bwebajja. Buddy Group Buzzi treated club members and friends to an unforgettable grand finale. Their out-of-venue fellowship on 31st October was nothing short of magical, featuring live music, delicious cuisine, refreshing drinks, and a joyful cake-cutting ceremony to honor the October birthdays. The evening buzzed with camaraderie, laughter, and the undeniable energy that only RC Bwebajja can deliver.
Throughout October, the club undertook six impactful community service projects, staying true to our mission of serving and uplifting those around us. Our mentorship sessions continued to inspire, highlighted by a standout presentation from CP Benjamin Bwanika of RC Garuga, an honorary member of our club. His practical and relatable insights about The Rotary Foundation (TRF) engaged every participant, deepening our understanding of Rotary’s impact.
A meaningful visit from the membership directorate took place on 28th October at Rtn. Ssalongo Kabunga Peter’s home and workplace. This initiative, part of our club’s mentorship process, beautifully reflected our commitment to fostering genuine connections within our community.
On 31st October, Frank Wananda was proudly inducted as our 95th club member. The moment was made even more special as we celebrated the graduation of our second mentorship cohort. Joy filled the room as the graduates commemorated their achievements with cake, warm hugs, and shared pride in how far they’ve come.
Training and personal growth were focal points in the 18th week. Club Learning Facilitator IPP Annie Ninyesiga organized an enlightening session led by Rtn. Dr. Mich Ronnie Ogwang of RC Kampala Ssese Islands. His “Gamba n’Ogu Masterclass” captivated everyone, offering invaluable lessons on building meaningful connections and nurturing networks—essential skills for any Rotarian seeking to maximize their impact.
Our club’s dedication to service remained as strong as ever. Our End Polio Project at Bunamwaya Health Center II, on October 28th, held in collaboration with RAC Bwebajja, RC & RAC Garuga, Mutundwe, and the Provisional Club of Bwebajja Mid-City, vaccinated 85 children and provided essential antenatal services to 22 expectant mothers.
The Provisional Rotary Club of Bwebajja Mid-City achieved provisional status—a significant milestone celebrated by all. Special thanks go to NCA PP Judith Nyongereza and the many members who contributed to this success.
Adding to our visibility, the Public Image Directorate secured mass media coverage for the Kyampagi BEL Impact Project, which was featured in the Bukedde newspaper on October 29th.
Buddy Group Buzzi unveiled Buzzi Waves, our first-ever Buddy Group magazine. Packed with leadership stories, project highlights, and group news, it stands as a true testament to our collective spirit and impact.
Jjanyi Buddy Group brought members together at Hotel La Vena for a heartwarming Meet & Greet, featuring great food, friendship, and brainstorming sessions for their December project. Meanwhile, the Kassattiro Buddy Group pulled out all the stops for a mega-home hospitality event at PAG Dr. Fabian Kasi’s residence on November 2nd. The day began with an invigorating fitness walk and flowed into an afternoon of delicious food, laughter, and dancing.
PE Haj Hassan Nyenje emerged as the club’s star learner, earning the highest number of certificates in October! President Andrew continues to encourage all members to seize the opportunity to grow through the online courses at the Rotary Learning Centre.
